blog hopping
so i was reading through my pile of mails with my other yahoo account and a message from multiply updates gave me an interest. there was a link for kc concepcion's account. i got interested so i clicked on the link and i enjoyed reading her entries and looking at the pictures. though some words are in french *i think*, still i was mighty proud of that gal...why? i was initially expecting a high profiled blogsite in pure english contents, but what i read were entries spoken from the heart containing words of our native tongue. and her entries were really life as it is happening to her, not any bragging account of fashion and high society rubbish or gimiks that 'normal' society people like us only dream about. it was so nice of her to share humbly some of the places she's been to and some experiences she has encountered. so i decided to add her to my list of blogfriendness.
*parang nahiya tuloy ako at gusto ko na din mag-add ng tagalog words dito paminsan minsan when i feel like it nyahahaha*
another nice find was the blogsite of a good friend who was supposed to be my gownmaker if our wedding would have pushed through. veluz reyes, aka mama veluz as i fondly called her, just recently updated her blogsite *thank goodness*. i was really amazed at her artwork gown designs that really shows off the beauty and uniqueness of each of her brides. i was also laughing through some narrations of her experiences with the different brides she had. the latest entry i read was really funny, i could just imagine how much patience she has within her powers to endure the stress hahahaha...

my take on harry

i'm definitely a big fan of jk rowling's harry potter series. having read the first four books for 3x already and the fifth and sixth book 2x is an evidence that i don't tire myself reading it all over again. the first book's movie was shown in pinas last nov.1 of 2005. i actually gave birth to my eldest on oct.25 2005 and went to the movie house at megamall on the 1st showing day just to watch it with dadi niño. hehe fanatic talaga... we even have a dvd collection of the movies shown except for the 5th installment which is not out in the market yet.
the latest movie, order of the phoenix, was admittedly quite boring but was not that bad. i myself didn't really enjoyed reading the book itself so much because it had so many pages and so many side stories. i guess we can't blame the book for being written that way because rowling was just doing justice to each character in harry potter's life, why they turned out to be good wizards and some into villains. some might not really appreciate the movie due to the fact that there were less animations and off-the-seats-wow experience like we had during the 4th movie. harry was most of the time 'angry' at book 5, well practically because of his loss (sirius) and that most people would not believe him that voldemort is back. more agravatingly, the so-called wanna-be-popular and miss-know-it-all professor umbridge was on the scene exploiting the power handed to her by the ministry to take charge of hogwarts.
now that the last installment to the harry potter series book is out in the market, i'm not sure if i want to join the bandwagon and buy the book. somehow i have reservations because it would mean the end... the end of waiting what's next and anticipating more actions and adventures. it was how i felt when i had to buy the last book for the shopaholic series of sophie kinsella. i really really loved those books that i'm willing to read them again by end of this year.
maybe it's just the feeling of elatedness whenever harry vanquishes the evil that makes it more exciting. and how friends would really stick up with you come what may. and how our emotions and feelings for our loved ones suffer also when we're in pain so its best that we move away from them. it's still human nature that is evident even in the magical world. and it was nice that rowling didn't concentrate so much on the divinities and powers beyond humans.
as for the deathly hallows, well i still have to contemplate whether i'll just borrow a copy or get one myself or collect the books altogether or maybe wait for the completion of the movies... we'll see. i'll let you know my decision in time. =)

anniversary special
until now i can't help but smile and laugh and be teary-eyed all at the same time whenever i reminisce our anniversary weekend. yeah, we had two days of celebration hehehe..i just want to share with you how we celebrated our 2nd year anniversary.
i finally decided to buy niño his favorite perfume. it's sentimental for both of us since it brought us together. well, i admit, i was so into 'his presence' whenever i remember that scent when he passes by. he emptied his perfume way back in pinas and haven't gotten around buying a new one since then. it's gss (great singapore sale), so we went to robinsons mall to see their offer. and i knew then that i have to buy it for him.
on july 5, thursday, i found a window of time to buy my gift for him. when i got there, the packaging that we liked, which includes the two miniature bottles, was out of stock. even the biggest size (125ml) wasn't available anymore. i decided to get the 75ml bottle and bought another one with a twist on the scent that has the 125ml bottle. good thing the sales guy found a separate miniature bottle in a pretty packaging and threw in some more freebies. so you could imagine how difficult it would be for me to hide all those things from him. i didn't have time to have them wrapped, i proceeded to our meeting place in suntec. niño was very surprised when i handed him his 'gifts'. his smile won't rub off hehe. he won't stop saying thank you until the next day.
our anniversary falls on a sunday, we decided to have our celebration on saturday, july 7, and have a simple dinner perhaps on sunday itself. we booked die hard 4 in plaza singapura for the 4pm show. initially, we had new york new york restaurant in mind for our dinner but after the movie, we were starved and we don't want to travel to get there only to find ourselves still on queue after an hour or so. we went to carl's jr instead and ate a different meal for a change. we agreed to have dinner at new york new york the following evening or some other days.
the night was still young so we went bag hunting on the malls along orchard road. actually i have been checking on an esprit bag but was still looking for other designs. after the pain of walking, niño finally blurted out that i should just buy the bag that i originally wanted. it was getting late then so i think it's better i heed to his request before he changes his mind hehe. i also got myself an 'everyday sandals' which i told him i would cut from my monthly allowance. while on our way home, he asked if he was able to meet the price of the gift that i gave him and i said, you're halfway there (this line would be the understatement of the year after you finish reading this blog entry). we got home and watched some few episodes of lost and dozed off. but at the stroke of midnight, we both greeted each other happy anniversary.
on the day itself...
sunday july 8, we allowed tita juvs to have her day off. we heard mass at 11am but before that, a delivery of a dozen roses knocked on our door and niño gave it to me while i was dressing up. i was so surprised and happy. they were beautiful scarlet red american roses and the petals were so velvetty. in the afternoon, he reminded me that we'll have dinner that night but actually i wasn't in the mood coz of the gloomy weather. he took a bath and i tended to the kids. tita juvs arrived shortly after niño finished so i went in to bathe.
when i got into the room, i was surprised to see niño putting on slacks and polo. i was pressured to find a decent dress to fit in and he kept asking me to hurry up. i was getting pissed that time coz i was already perspiring. so i wore something nice and we went out. inside the mrt he asked me if we could pass by a place he'd like to see and shoot some pictures... i agreed. we got off at city hall mrt and walked into raffles shopping mall and passed through a corridor. then we were inside the stamford swissotel. we got into the elevator and went all the way up to the 70th floor.
the view was breathtaking... i was in awe. we took some pictures and had few chitchats with the hotel guests. after a while, i asked him if we were already leaving and he told me no because we're going to have our dinner there. OMIGOSH i was speechless for a while then i composed myself after some time. he had a reservation in a window seat corner of the equinox restaurant and the view again was stunning. we were served with port wine and some bread and butter. our appetizers came in, a sumptuous half dozen of oysters and watermelon salad with goat cheese. it taste different from the usual food we have but it was delighting. our main dish was salmon with shitake mushroom for me, and veggie dish for niño. after that i excused myself and went to the ladies' room.
when i came back, there was a wrapped box with a ribbon on my table side. i thought that it was a complimentary gift from the restaurant. but when i read the card tag, my hands shaked and i was beginning to feel that any moment, my tears will just trickle down. i opened it... and it was the guess watch i've been eyeing for two months already. so i cried and kept saying omigosh omigosh this ain't happening. i was smiling so madly that the corners of my lips were almost touching my ears and felt my tears roll down on my cheeks as well. it was a priceless moment, and i couldn't have asked for more.
(back track on the story of the watch)
i initially got attracted with the heart-shaped design guess watch when i saw it on a billboard at tangs department store. i walked into the place and searched for it and viewed it in person. it was two-toned silver and gold color, i showed it to niño that time.
after a while, i was beginning to get so obsessed with it that everytime we passed by a guess shop, i would always take a peek at their watch collections. i looked at the tag price and checked if the price has dropped already hehehe.. it even happened once that i bumped my head on the display window in raffles shopping mall, with another woman peeking through the glass. it was so damn hard hit that i felt my world wiggle a few seconds. the woman catched my gaze and said a loud, 'OUCHE!', while staring at me. i was so embarassed! niño kept to himself and after the woman left, he gave in to his bursting laughter. (nyahahaha i'm sure you're doing the same thing right now... stop!)
sad to say, that wasn't the first time (hrrmmpphh!). i bumped into the window in another department store while peeking (again) on the guess watch. this time by myself only without any spectators (whew!). and for the third time (geez i know it's pathetic already) after peeking again back on the same window where i first hit my head. (so you could just imagine how much i wanted it bwahahahaha). this time i was already having my eyes on a different design, it was chainlike gold and copper. the initial heart-shaped two-toned watch design that i liked was out of stock already for most stores (so sad).
(fast forward to our dinner date)
niño asked me if i liked his gift..well of course i answered a big YES! imagine, i wasn't expecting that he was still able to find the original design that i liked. and the most touching part is knowing how much effort he has put into making this wonderful event very special. he made me feel so loved and cared for. i never thought he'd go an extra mile for me...and i'm very thankful to him.
i asked him why he bought that design when i was already eyeing a new design lately. he answered, "we have lots of memories together with that watch and i knew how much you wanted it.". yeah i could just imagine myself everytime i looked at the time, i would laugh at the thought of how it ended up on my wrist. =)

surviving my 1st month
in the past month, i've seen some people leave their post and new ones take over. i got to know more about the inside system and how things work around the place. i saw some old friends during lunch and dinner time at lau pasat (a huge hawker in front of sgx). dadi and i were able to have lunch togethers on fridays. and the best thing of all, we ride the same mrt together in the morning (he comes off at city hall and i come off at raffles place) and at the end of the day, we go home together. sweet! =D
7 random things
I must post the rules, 7 random things about me and then tag others to do the same. Sound fair enough, right? These are the rules… each player starts with 7 random facts about themselves on their Blog. People who are tagged need to blog 7 facts about themselves and post the rules as well. At the end of their blog list 7 people you are tagging. Let them know that they are tagged by leaving them a comment.
1. i'm happily married with dadi niño with two wonderful kids, malcolm nixon and miguel noah. they are 5yrs. old and 1yr. old respectively.
2. i'm a caffeine addict also, like my kumare. but previously i'm more addicted to coke soda and never drank coffee. i learned taking coffee when i came here in sg and be around faye, blessie and michelle. and now, a night out wouldn't be complete without taking a sip after dinner. it's a nice way also for us to catch up.
3. my life long dream of exploration is a euro tour. i'm fascinated by artifacts, edifices and especially churches and domes. i know it sounds boring but for me, it feels like traveling back through time and appreciating beauty *naks!*.
4. my outlets: shopping malls or food indulgences or beauty salons. that's right. but since things are way expensive here in sg, i prefer to window shop. food, well the cheapest and fastest cure i could think of is a mars or milky way chocolate bar. i don't grow my nails anymore but i used to have them groomed to make me feel better. a haircut is a no-no nowadays (mahal mgpa-rebond no! sayang! hahahah).
5. i'm a frustrated singer/dancer. i know how to dance but it's not what you can call a 'stage performance potential'. i know how to sing, if singing means being able to sing in tune with the melody. but overall, its just ok (nyahahaha pagbigyan na lang).
6. i want to retire as a professor/teacher someday. it was actually what i wanted to take up during college but due to some financial circumstances, i have to pursue computer engineering. but i'm still hoping that someday i could take up education courses and be able to pay it forward.
7. i'm in the process of learning on how to take life one day at a time right now. i have a tendency to panic and over react to situations most of the times that i ended up crying with frustrations. maybe i just worry too much, but now i'm trying to focus all my energies to the present so i can better enjoy my friends, especially my hubby and kids. =)
now i will tag kuya david, pazette, len oliver, luzel and bernaks.

his amazing grace
the lord's amazing grace has touched my heart and our lives. i was never expecting any miracles to happen this big to us, but it did and i would like to share it to you.
the 2nd week of may was a critical week for us. it would determine whether nixon would still enroll in his school for the next term. it would determine whether tita juvs would need to find a new employer. it would determine whether i and my kids would go back home to pinas and i would have to look for a job there as well. it would determine whether dadi and ice should move out of our condo if that happens. it could affect both our families back home in pinas. and among other things, it would affect our savings for the future.
a week before that, ice, our housemate, and i had a chat. i told her the things that were bothering me and how it would affect everyone including her. she showed genuine concern and we both had a moment of prayer. she was doing a pray over for me. she asked god to give us strength and wisdom to withstand our trials at this time. she asked that my application be picked in the lottery and that i would be able to find a job that would best fit our situation and needs. and i told her that maybe even one request would be enough for us. ice said something that striked me a lot, she said, "god is a powerful god and he is a good god so if we need anything, we can just ask for them all.
guess what, last may 8 at 11:45pm, a call came in to tell me the news that my application was picked in the lottery and that the processing will now continue and i just have to wait til october for the papers to come out. i was jumping with joy when i knocked on ice's room that night even if she was already asleep. that same day also during the afternoon, i had a interview meeting with an agent who would find me a suitable job here in sg.
the following day, may 9, he emailed me about an interview with a prospective client and gave me the details. on may 10, i went to the interview and i was offered a job on the spot. that night i went knocking on ice's door again to tell her that it does happen. that god is really a powerful god and he granted all our prayers. it was also my sis berna's birthday so i called home and greeted her and told them about the good news. i thanked them also for praying for me and my family.
then on may 11, my previous agent texted me and told me that my documents and refunds were ready for pick-up. god is really good. he knew that we needed that extra money so come monday morning, may 14, the last day of enrollment, i was able to pay for nixon's tuition for the next school term. i can also send financial help to my siblings back home for their school tuitions.
god is good all the time, he never ceases to love us even in our most darkest hour. after realizing things about life, i never lost hope and i believed that god is going to provide and answer our needs. he will never abandon us, he may seem distant but he never forgets. he may not give us answers immediately, but he fulfills his promises in due time. praise god for he is the almighty father. thank you very much for all the blessings.

fairy tales
as i come of age in my twenties, i began to wonder where is that "happily ever after" thing going to happen to me. i mean i keep hitting on, for me what seems to be, my major obstacleS but it's not getting any lighter. then just recently, i started realizing that life is not like the one's we used to believe in fairy tales.
life is a continuous struggle to live and let live. dadi nino helped me through with that enlightenment. it's a process of learning and realizing your goals as you gain your wisdom. you make decisions and priorities according to people who will be affected and how it will make you grow as a person. so now, i don't ask dadi every now and then the question, "when will the struggles end?". i know now that life isn't life without the everyday challenges that we have to live by. the decisions, whether big or small, is always there to keep us into the action of life. we just have to mentally take down notes and learn from every experience. :)

teachers-parents day
i talked to his english teacher first. he was very impressed with nixon, he asked him early on during his first days in school if he was from america because his slang and diction was different. and nixon told her yes he was from america! my gulay! heheheh.. i just explained to her that he usually watches nickelodeon and disney channel, thats where he gets his english 'twang' when he speaks.
she told me also that nixon learns very fast but sometimes tends to talk in class when she's explaining but the wonderful thing is, everytime she asks him for an answer, he gives the correct answer even if he's not listening. bwahahahaha! *kakaibang talent yan anak*. she also said that nixon is very organize as a leader on their table. when they have activities, he does his work well and doesn't get distracted with the other kids. he's good with numbers and colors also. and the very nice improvementof his was that he can read! before, he just memorize the stories...now he can actually read! her teacher told me that she has flashcards of sentences and he could actually read them perfectly.
then i had a chat with his chinese teacher, she told me that from a kid who doesn't have chinese learnings from the beginning, nixon was very good. he was a fast learner. his teacher would call nixon's classmates for recitation and he would whisper the answer if his classmate can't answer mwehehehe! she told me that maybe he could develop his mandarin more by taking special classes since he's not practising at home *i think i should take the classes with him as well hihihi*. and nixon was telling his teacher that he has a sister *he was actually pertaining to tita juvs and tita isa*.
awww you really make mami proud nixon =) sorry, i just can't help but brag about my son's achievements =)
krabi, thailand trip
on our first day, since we only arrived around 4pm, we decided to book our activity for the following day (the island hopping trip) and search for a nice spa haven. we got ourselves a cheap four island tour that includes snorkling and swimming *it's time for me to conquer my fear with boats and snorkling mwehehehe!* that night we looked around the shops and restos and walked along the side of the beach. we found ourselves a nice buffet resto and i enjoyed the kebabs so much and the ginger ale. then on our way back, we found a nice spa and we booked a slot for the following day after the island hopping.
the next day we were up early to get our delicious breakfast buffet meal and the lorry-jeep (it was a big truck open on the sides like a jeep with a roof) fetched us for our island trip. we rode a speedboat and i was really feeling ok with it. when we went to the island where we're suppose to have our snorkling, i was nervous because they just have to drop us in the water. good thing there was dadi beside me. we weren't able to watch many fishes because most of them were near the cave in the island and it was tiring already to paddle our way there then back. we decided to get back on the boat and there, my giddiness attacked. i was in a sour mood and was wishing we could just leave the other snorklers in the water hahaha! so when we got on the next island, i just laid flat on the sand for a while to take off the heat and swaying of my senses. after a while, we enjoyed the warm clear waters and the small fishes were swimming with us. we had lunch on another island and had fun photoshooting some monkeys. after that we went back already and rested for our spa session that night.
we decided to eat our dinner first before proceeding to the spa. the pineapple rice was sumptuous and the red snapper dish was fabulous. we enjoyed the veggies and squid and fresh buko juice also. afterwards, we proceeded with our spa sessions and it was so relaxing and soothing to the senses. dadi has his first spa experience *bravo bravo!* and he just had a foot massage. would you believe the he dozed off! my goodness, i was having the deep tissue massage and wouldn't go to sleep because i was worried that dadi wouldn't be comfortable. good thing we were on the same room hehehe. after our spa, me, dadi, kati and blessie waited for michelle to finish then we went out again to check on some souvenirs to take home. we had a furnace cooked pizza and a cup of coffee and juices. it was an enjoyable evening.
our last day on the island, we did a little more going around and shopping around for pasalubongs. our van came in early so that we could look into the city for more items. we got into a mall and i saw dunkin donuts and immediately bought a dozen! hahaha obviously i missed those donuts. then we went to the airport and our flight was delayed an hour and a half because of the heavy rain. the result: a bumpy and irritating flight. the pilot made sure we got home fast and i wasn't really enjoying the roller coaster ride. finally back in sg, kati and michelle went with us to terminal 2 to ride an mrt back home but ate at burger king first. blessie and her mom and bro went home earlier.
the vacation was totally a welcome break and we enjoyed spending time with our company of friends. it was relaxing and the weather was kind enough to shine on us during our stay. =)

historical malacca
at malacca proper, we were introduced with pink buildings, pink gates and by golly, even a pink church! the flowerbeds were very pretty and vibrant. the ruins were very fascinating. our friends enjoyed shooting pictures everywhere. of course i was happy and excited for dadi who had his first exposure using his new dslr camera *hoorraay!* so even if i wasn't in the mood to pose, i tried to exert the best effort i can to make him satisfied with his shots.
at the end of the day, we went back to the same mall then had a nice meal at A&W. i was so ecstatic with happiness knowing that they had a chilidog in the menu! of course it should go with a large rootbeer float on hand hehehe! we rode the bus going back to SG around 6pm and it drizzled along the highway. everyone were dead tired and sleeping. we got home happy and exhausted from the trip but it was fun being with our friends.
recounts
our 1week pinas vacation
i was really looking forward to this because the last time i went home was august2005 so it's almost 2years! *as if pinas is so far away hehehe* anyway, we were saving so much for noah's coming and our supposedly wedding this december. oh and by the way, our wedding is postponed until further notice.
so going home was more on catching up with families, friends and relatives. also it's noah's 1st time to show himself up to the whole lee and garillo clan so that was really something that everyone looked forward to. it was scorching hot in pinas and being in tarlac was like being heated in an oven toaster as in! hehehe! in manila, well it's somewhat bearable but we took a cab to almost all our destinations.
we visited our favorite megamall *which we don't consider our favorite anymore.. i don't know what happened to that place. it was under construction when we visited it so it kinda lost its touch in our hearts*. we also checked out mall of asia, we wanna know whats the fuss about this mall. we never had the chance to exactly know why because just going around two buildings made us tired to the tiniest nerves and we gave up. then we tried to visit greenhills shopping malls, unfortunately that time all tiangge we're going about with their monthly stall rotations so we just ended up going to robinsons galleria. not really that bad because we used to watch movies here most of the times. it was also dadi's 1st time to eat in terriyake boy and we really enjoyed it.
my friends and i decided to meet in the makati area so it was also a chance for us to visit sm makati *di naman kmi msyadong mka-SM ano? hehe*, glorieta, landmark and greenbelt. we weren't able to explore glorieta and landmark anymore. we had dinner at wendy's *yum yum bacon mushroom melt combo* then had coffee at seatle's best in greenbelt. i told my friends to let us give in with our taste buds since we missed the fastfood and coffee back home.
our kids enjoyed playing along with my sis kobe and bro jason. kobe and nixon made up for time that they were separated. on the other hand, noah was kinda difficult to feed and was losing weight. i guess he got stressed up from the heat and attention. lastly, we had our last minute shopping and grocery at sm north edsa. this mall is the nearest to our place so i know the shops by heart. we watched a movie here also, imagine the price difference! we ate at my favorite resto, sbarro, and tasted my fave cake and spaghetti in red ribbon. *sobrang pig out bwahahah!*.
leaving behind my family again was painful. my mom was into tears not only for me but for the kids as well. she really miss them a lot and would like to take care of them but unfortunately, my siblings need her more. as usual, queues and check-in with the pinas airport was tough. it almost took us two hours to finish and wait for the plane. we saw some familiar faces who were on the flight also.
all in all, it was a fun, sizzling hot, and fulfilling vacation. hopefully we'll have time to go back and have another get togethers with other friends that we missed out.

mommie day
dadi gave me an ergonomic pair of shoes... hehehe i'm really so happy! now i don't have to worry walking to office with foot aches. it was actually bought on the spot, i was just looking at the sale of ergo shoes and was interested on the brown reddish ones. they were pretty and i tried a pair. dadi came in the store and he just told me point blank, "mami, why don't you buy it for yourself. it's on me.". wow, it was really wow! i was speechless!
then we had dinner, we brought the kids along and tita juvs. then we went outside to the lawn and the kids just started running in the grass and looking at the fountain. we enjoyed looking at them crazily running after each other. it's a priceless gift to a mom looking at her children growing in harmony together. it was indeed a memorable day.

last day
being with HDB was not that awful really considering the fact that my bosses were a bit indifferent unlike the usual office environment back home in pinas. work was ok for a career mom, pay is relatively ok considering there was no overtime. and best of all, it was my first time to be exposed to mainframe programming and i was able to survive it. so leaving behind my desk was not that sad even though i was preparing myself for some few days/weeks at home tending to the kids. it's a relief that i would be able to spend some quality time with my kids and myself.
of course the hardest part was leaving behind my good friends whom i've been with through good and bad in HDB... the chatroom which was a part of our daily routine and our lunch togethers... the bullying, the case 1 case 2 games, the i'm-thinking-of-something game, the name-that-song game, the name-that-movie game... andami! heheheh!!! those were the things we do when boredom kicks in or sleepiness or when we hit deadlock with our programs. ptv4 people made HDB stay bearable and joyful hehe.. i miss you guys, ptv4 rules! =)

sa aking pagtanda
A very warm reminder for everyone...
- - - - - - - - - -

that big leap
making big decisions is awful. why? because everything doesn't really depend on what you decide. it's a mixture of you, and the whole universe around you. what you can really bring with you is not the talents or the gifts or the monies, but the courage to face adversities in your midst. because you'll never really know unless you get there and actually live the being, the time, the essence. maybe you've exhausted all the pro's and con's... maybe you've verified the authenticity of it... maybe you talked to some people to confirm it... in the end, it's still up to you to make the decision and stay firm. you should never give up, you should never expect it to be perfect, for in that comes disappointments.
live life as it comes your way. hope for the best, expect for the worst. and you don't really have to worry, because you're never alone. He will always be with you, you just got to have faith that He will not want bad things for you. hurt happens for a reason, it strengthens your dignity and makes you appreciate life better. remember your friends who are always there for you, who will stand beside you through it all. they may not always say the right words to comfort you... you may not always hear what you want to hear from them... but in the end, they've always loved you.
i'm picking up my courage to take the big leap. i don't know anything about the other side, but i'm gonna find out. and if it's not as good as i thought it would be, i can always go back to my dear family who loves me and will never abandon me. i can always start again... that's the challenge of living. thank you dadi rock for being so supportive... thank you for encouraging me to become the best that i can be. love ya dadi nino! :)

birthdays galore part 2
hanzel, eddie's friend from back home, was on a vacation here in sg and he likes to cook. i admit, he's really good at it. so we asked him to do the cooking for us on that day. we ordered papaitan, spaghetti, paksiw na pata, sweet and sour meatballs, barbeque chicken and barbeque liempo. he also made some leche flan for dessert. we brought some hotdogs also for barbequeing. and the cake that eventually melted a little so the boy that was sitting on top of it, fell down on the icing hehehe! our guests thought it was really made that way bwahahahah! i should have asked the delivery man to just deliver it in the afternoon.
anyway, there were lots of chatting and get together of some old and new friends. of course, the ever loyal and dependable ptv4 staff was there. special thanks to bossing also, who was our official photographer that day. darwin and pazette was there also together with their own bundle of joy, morrison. hono's family was there also, and nat's and malou's kids. anton and ellen with their kid, and also our kumares and kumpares (trina and ken, mader cecel and lew, hani and ffg, rodel and teena with their families too). laura and eugene's kids were also present as well as welong and chat with gelay.
noah showed everyone that he can now walk, well not that good hehe... he still stumbles and sways but he's totally enjoying it. he and nixon had a swim later in the afternoon with some of their kid friends. we were done at around 9pm in the evening. i'm just so happy we were able to pull it off for our little boy's 1st :)

birthdays galore part 1
my day started with plenty of birthday greetings... they really made me smile. niño did a little surprise for me and i can't still stop myself from smiling everytime i remember it. he came out of the same mrt station as mine and i wasn't aware of that as i was in a hurry to beat the clock for the morning rush. when i logged in the timesheet, bossing told me that i had a delivery at the reception area downstairs. so i hurriedly went down, but nobody was there. i just decided to go back then bossing saw me and told me to hurry because the delivery was outside the door of our office! and then i saw dadi... he was holding a very big bunch of pink and red roses. i was speechless. i was so shy going back to my desk holding the pretty flowers. people were all looking in awe as well, even my boss stood up from her desk to take a peek.
the thing is, the night before my birthday, he kept on telling me that he's sorry for not being able to give me any surprises. i wasn't really shocked because we're never used to the idea of flowers and those stuffs. but i admit, i was quite disappointed. i guess i'm the same as the other romantic girls out there. would u believe that for almost 6years of our being together, this is the 2nd time he gave me flowers. *smile smile again :) kilig!*
another funny thing, while he was spilling how sorry he was, he had already plotted the plan in his mind. the day before my birthday, sunday, tita juvs and i went to the market. apparently, while we were away, he took our savings atm wahahahahah!!! very naughty indeed.
it was really a very pleasant day :)

guilty as charged
same goes with my hair and make-up artist. my coordinator, teena, advised that i should do my trial hair and make-up already when we get home this march. we might not have enough time when we get home a week before the big day.
hmmm... what else? ahh yeah, i've also been communicating with newly wed brides to get some feedbacks on some of their suppliers.
well, i guess that's all for now...

thoughts
we just can't deny the fact that we want to pull ahead of the pact and be on the brink of success. but to the expense of stepping onto another person's being is a disgrace. i guess it's man's instinct, survival of the fittest as they say. i just couldn't imagine how some people enjoy other people's misfortunes and difficulties. life is a continuous struggle to learn. it's very disappointing that some people are so blinded by success and happiness that they forget to feel for other people's misery.
it's so difficult to approach someone close to your heart who is floating in the clouds of ecstasy and suddenly breaking that moment with your grief and sorrow. a true friend in that person will never see your difficulties as a disturbance to him. he'll share with your anxieties even if it bores him to death to listen to your whining and crying. after all, when all has been said and time has passed, he will come to heal. and what's important is that you've been a part of it every single second of his climb towards enlightenment. isn't that more fulfilling, giving joy and sharing the miracle of holding on to each other through good and bad times.
i think it's wonderful :)
*ganito ata talaga pag tumatanda... hihihi*
